What kind of motorcycle insurance should I buy?
Thee are three main kinds of insurance and the type of motorcycle insurance you need depends on the level of cover you want for you and your motorycle.
Fully comprehensive Insurance
This is the most extensive type of cover; fully comprehensive motorcycle insurance provides peace of mind for almost every eventuality as it covers you for almost everyting you would require. The major difference between this and Third Party cover is that you can claim for damages or losses to your own motorcycle as well as other parties, and that's regardless of whether it’s your fault or not.
Third-party, fire and theft Insurance
Basically as it says, third party fire and theft insurance covers your motorbike or scooter for theft and fire and also covers you in accident if its your fault, but it does not cover your motorcycle in an accident. If an accident was not your fault you would claim off the other party if there is one
Third-party Insurance only
The most basic (and usually cheapest) level of motorcycle insurance is third party only, which, this provides the most limited, but essential insurance cover. If you happen to be involved in an accident and another person is injured or their vehicle or property is damaged, then you will be liable for the costs incurred to compensate for their losses.
